ECSTATIC DANCE with DREEEMY
~ (2 sets - SOLAR daytime & LUNAR evening) ~
Journey deep within the medicine of liberated movement. This Ecstatic Dance is a ceremonial practice in reverence of body, heart, spirit, space, and place. Like our ancestors knew to do, The Dance is a healing, a releasing, an expressing, and an expanding.
The SOLAR journey is an opportunity to activate and ignite intention.
The LUNAR journey is an entry into awakening and integrating that intention.
Come one, come all. Come as you are, move as you wish.
SONIC ALCHEMY with DREEEMY
An immersive and interactive listening meditation & sound-bath that invites you into expressive transformational communication with the spirit of the Forest. Unearth her whispers; her wisdoms; her rhythms; her songs.
DRĖĖĖMY is a transnational genre-bending world-fusion sonic alchemist, movement & meditation guide, and social justice artivist. She is the founder of the NYC-based womxn's music, arts, and wellness Collective BAE.
As an Egyptian-American, her sound is an Organic Electronica ~ an intentional, transnational communication of soul vibration: global rhythms, earthy basslines, pulsing 808s, glittering synths, ancestral voices, tribal invocations ~ Ancient Sounds and Future Beats.
But her sonic journeys are also unexpected, fusing and layering tempos and genres and odes to indigenous cultures, because they're meant for soulful, primal movement — a deep sense of exploration, liberated expression, and euphoria. It is Sonic Alchemy, and it is a nod to our shared (her)story.
BAE (Before Anything Else, @collective.BAE), is drėėėmy's mindful music movement and transnational conscious community, produced by womxn, for ALL. Her work is to amplify and evolve intentional connection, collaboration, co-creation, and well-being for the collective by highlighting especially under-represented female-identifying artists. The Collective BAE harnesses multi-genre creativity to transform and transmute spaces for collective liberation and feminine celebration.

Asif is a yogi, earth lover, vegan, creative writer, seeker, and a medicine man in the Ayurvedic tradition. In many ways he is the fiction he writes and has written himself into an epic dystopian utopia. This has involved him being a creative writing teacher in a dead poets society in Brooklyn; an ancient yogi transcending form and gravity and conveying this only to select students outside of the realm of commercial studios; a medicine man who forages, makes medicine, touches hearts and journeys with his clients through time and space, but mostly in a state of constant prostration at That which allows him and all Life to Be. Contact + Consent: At the core of Contact Improv is the constant dance of consent. We'll be practicing this dance of saying and hearing “No” & “Yes” both verbally and non-verbally. Learning and incorporating Betty Martin's "Wheel of Consent" we'll explore being more deeply sensual, consensual, and present with each other.
Sensational: A Touch & Play Taster: Challenge your senses! Feel the proximity of pain & pleasure / sensual & sexual. Explore the range of possible touch: caress/slap/tickle/scratch/bite/pinch/squeeze... Discover your “Yeses!” and clarify and communicate your “Nos”. With awareness build resilience and deepen connections as we playfully improvise through edgier forms of touch in our dances.
Reconnecting Contact with Props
How can we safely gather and practice the beloved dance form of Contact Improv during Pandemic times. For folks who are are not yet comfortable with direct touch and/or folks who want to explore contact with props this non-contact "Contact" class uses long bamboo poles, ropes and even a parachute to create ways to feel resistance and counterbalance with our partners while maintaining physical distance.

Honoring the Land through Somatic Practice
Acknowledging the land, the indigenous people who inhabit/ed this land and what oppressive colonialist behaviors happened and/or are still happening here is a practice of becoming an ally. We have to start somewhere and that is wherever you are now. Forming an intimate relationship to land that we inhabit means being vulnerable and seeing/feeling how ourselves and our ancestors are part of an oppressive culture and that we can now be part of decolonizing our bodies communities and land. Explore how Authentic Movement, Contact Improv and other somatic practices can be a doorway towards reconciliation. BIPOC Voices will be prioritized and amplified in this space.

Workshop: Queer Restoryation
In a world that tries to erase the presences of LGBTQueerIA+ folks, it is even more vital that we continue to tell our stories, whether they are the everyday realities of our lives, or mythic tales of realities deeper than ordinary truths. Binary ways of seeing the world will not simply disappear — they must be replaced by ways of seeing and honoring fluidity and change as natural and necessary. This workshop is an act of restoryation, engaging with new stories, myths, and legends, ones that walk the many paths beyond supposed binaries: male and female, night and day, land and sea, earth and sky, life and death, self and other, self and earth.
Self-Connection Anchor-- Grounding with Feldenkrais:
This Awareness Through Movement® practice will support you in centering, grounding and balancing your nervous system. You will be guided through gentle movements while lying down with an emphasis on noticing how you move, more than achieving any kind of technique. It’s a practice of decreasing doing and increasing awareness, which often has positive benefits of decreased pain and increased choice, which ripples out into your life. No experience necessary.
I am a Circling Facilitator, Counselor, dancer and Guild Certified Feldenkrais® Practitioner based in Northampton MA. I weave together these Embodied Awareness Practices to support others in discovering their habits and embodying their whole beings. I am happiest when I am creating spaces to go deep, discover insight and be in the never-ending learning process of life with others. More information on upcoming workshops in person and on Zoom: www.MichelleHuber.me
Exploring Aliveness in the Present Moment: In this group experience we will draw from Circling and Authentic Relating to slow down and feel what is present while being together. Sometimes festival settings can be fast, over-stimulating and involve a lot of interactions. Our time together will offer the opportunity to be with each other consciously, increasing our awareness of social habits and dropping below the surface of small talk. We will practice seeing each other and being seen. We will practice keeping attention on ourselves while we also pay attention to others. Paradoxically when we slow down, connection can happen fast. Bring your curiosity and let's explore together!

In addition to playing their amazing music on Thursday 6/24 HuDost will be offering the following workshop Thursday afternoon:
Empowerment Through Creative Process:
In this workshop we will be delving into various art-forms as tools of healing, discovery, and expression. We will be learning how to break through boundaries and give ourselves the opportunity for unapologetic creativity! This workshop is not just for artists but for anyone wishing to foster healing, exploration, love, and an open conversation with their creative and liberated selves. Participants will leave with their own visual, poetic, and musical expressions of what they can access by having this conversation.
The music of HuDost weaves a seamless tapestry of Folk, World, and Rock that renders tears and laughter in listeners, cultivating the nameless longing that abides somewhere in all our hearts and invoking total celebration. HuDost’s core musicians are Moksha Sommer, from Montréal, and Jemal Wade Hines from Kentucky. Having toured the U.S., Canada, and Europe constantly since April 2006, HuDost has grown and expanded, travelled rocky and glorious terrain and marveled at all they can learn and explore. Moksha and Jemal Wade in this time have grown as artists, as seekers, as a couple and as a family. Since 2015 they have also been highly engaged activists, doing advocacy work as KY Congressional District Representatives for ONE (a non-profit organization working to end extreme poverty and, specifically, the sexism of poverty).
HuDost functions as a duo or as a band, including guest musicians of varying sensibilities and backgrounds, and often including dance in their shows. As a duo their instrumentation includes vocals, harmonium (Indian Pump-Organ), NORD Keys, guitars, Dulcinet, percussion, and a slew of sonic ambient effects. Their music is a rich, eclectic blending of pop and rock with traditional Sufi music, Bulgarian, Croatian, Macedonian and Balkan folk music, Farsi, Turkish, Arabic, and folk. Their sound crosses all borders and barriers, taking the listener on a journey they will never forget.
HuDost's music is a powerful expression of life's journey and discovery. In 2008, Moksha went through a painful process of brain surgery due to a tumor. The healing from this included re-learning language skills, losing and regaining proper sight, and experiencing seizures. This could have been staggering but instead served as learning that has fueled a potent desire to bring healing through sound. In 2013 their amazing son, Kaleb, was brought into the world. It is through music that the losses and gains, pains and triumphs, and excruciating beauty of life can be given a voice of empathy to the synonymous lives of all people. Both critics and fans have said time and time again that the music of HuDost is this very expression. HuDost’s message comes from real experience, real emotion, and real concern for the world - from the birth of a child, to the healing of the body, to the healing of the planet, their words and music echo the human experience.

I am Janet Peck: West African dancer, drummer, teacher and choreographer. My seeds of dance first sprouted in the early 70’s during “Polynesian Potpourri”, the Hatboro YMCA’s first annual water show. A few years, two college degrees, 25 forays to Guinea, West Africa and one early retirement later, I became clear on what I wanted to be when I grew up! Now, just wrapping up my eighteenth season as the artistic director of the N'Bönyé Dance and Drum Ensemble and my eleventh season as a co-leader of Rhythm Village, I am dedicated to my mission: to inspire people to be the most vital individuals they can be by sharing my passion for West African dancing, drumming, singing and culture with them.
Drummers: join us, too. I'll teach YOU the drum patterns. IMPORTANT: Drummers: you WILL hafta BYOD!

Laney Sullivan and Jameson Price of Høly River (formerly known as Lobo Marino) have chosen to live intentional lives, focused on wellness and sustainability, and they compose and sing songs that reflect their values. Laney, lead vocalist, plays harmonium and banjo, while Jameson also plays banjo and creates a heartbeat for each song on a drum and other percussion instruments. Their music is haunting and experimental; at times melodic and at other times more of a chant. The beat never stops, never overpowers, and always draws listeners into the motion of the river, the feel of wind in a field of grain, or the calming meditation of a spiritual guide. As Lobo Marino and now as Høly River, the duo performs internationally at large festivals and backyard fire pits. At home in Richmond, Virginia, they have founded "Earth Folk Collective," a community space for performances and for workshops on wellness and sustainability.
